Sony has been unusually quiet about their lineup for Mobile World Congress, especially since the event is quickly approaching. Fortunately, a user on Xperia Blog came to fans’ aid with a leak of Xperia XZ2 Compact handset #mobilemagic
The commenter went online with an image that, if we’re to believe them, represents the Xperia XZ2 Compact, a phone we’re expecting to see in Barcelona next week. The handset in question sits right next to the Xperia Z5 Compact and defies the design blatantly.
If the phone on the left of the image follows the blocky style that we’re used to see from Sony, the prototype on the right is all curved edges. The rounded back is pretty surprising and I’m not sure if it’s in a good way. It definitely adds to the thickness of the handset on the whole.
Apparently, the user knows that as well and is not to sure if we’ll actually see this live. Also, they claim there won’t be any 3.5 mm headphone jack to speak of, while the fingerprint sensor will find itself placed on the rear, like the XA2 phones.
The one good thing about this device is a rumor concerning the upper bezel. Apparently, Sony is finally giving up on its super thick bezels and will opt for a thinner one this time.
Stay tuned for more details as MWC 2018 approaches!
