Take A Look At This Game’s Vision Of Mechanically-Augmented People In 2027

Artificial eyes and cybernetic limbs... these could be our most precious accessories 11 years from now. At least, that’s what the last game of the series Deus Ex envisions for humanity #todaymagic

For the latest chapter of the game series Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the production team prepared a live action trailer that puts into perspective the need of augmented parts for humans and the fear that they generate, in equal measure. In 2027, humanity will be torn by the rise of this phenomenon, as people start to realize that mechanical parts, robotic parts, can be manipulated and hacked.

In what is known as the “aug incident”, augmented people were controlled by unknown forces to attack their closest once, dividing society into two wings: the augs and naturals. This short clip is the team’s way of giving gamers a peak into augmentation’s initial objective and its subsequent effect.

For non-gamers, the film above will probably put into question the future of robots and machines co-existing together but more importantly, the changes that would bring molding them into one. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is coming August 23rd, 2016 on PS4.
