Target Introduces Same-Day Delivery Option

 

Online shopping is more popular now than ever, especially when it comes to household items and clothes. A good number of physical businesses have also slowly started to move their shops online in the past couple of years.

Retail giant Amazon is a name everyone is familiar with and one whose business approach has already set some particular standards everyone has come to expect from product delivery businesses. 

One of Amazon’s most popular ways to deliver their products is the free two-day shipping service. More recently, Amazon announced that it will make that service even faster and offer a one-day delivery service as the standard. 

It was just a matter of time until other businesses found a way to copy this business model. 

One of them is Target who has now introduced a same-day delivery option for a number of its US customers thanks to Shipt, a delivery startup that was acquired by the company in 2017, for $550 million.

The customers can choose from around 65,000 items from the Target catalogue and have it delivered on the same day with a fee of $9,99 per order. 

Those who are not really convinced if the same-day delivery service suits them or not, they can try it out by signing up for a four-week free trial.

“With same-day delivery now available directly within the Target.com experience, we’ve made it even easier for our guests to shop at Target—while still getting the great value, curated product assortment and helpful guest service they’ve come to expect,” Dawn Block, Senior Vice President for Digital at Target said in a statement. 

According to Target, the shoppers can get the items delivered to their door in as soon as an hour. If they choose to use their REDcard to pay for them, they will also get 5% off their purchase and take advantage of weekly ad promos. 

If they decide they want to add or subtract or edit anything about their order, they have up to one hour before delivery to do so. They can add multiple addresses for order delivery such as their home address, office, or even on behalf of others .

Target has collected all the items that are available for same-day delivery in a dedicated portal found on its official website.
