We love us some rumors before big reveals, and it’s usually what comes around as the unveiling dates approach.
The launch of the Mate 20 Pro is no exception to the rule – according to the latest rumors delivered by GSMArena, the smartphone will come with a 6.9-inch OLED screen. LG is not manufacturing it anymore though, having been replaced by BOE, a Chinese company.
There are worries that BOE might not be able to support the high volume Huawei might require and that the company will return to Samsung Display and LG Display.
Nonetheless, it’s still a big step for the Chinese company, as it is much younger than its rivals. The deal with Huawei does nothing but confirm that BOE is on par, quality-wise, with the larger, more well-known suppliers.
The screen in question would be coming with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The cherry on top is the fact that the phone might reportedly come with five cameras – three on the back and the other two on the front.
Huawei will be using the HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor on this model as well as for the future ones from here on.
The phone is expected to be launched in the coming months, but so far none of this data has been officially confirmed, so, as always, take it with a grain of salt.
