iRobot, the company that put autonomous vacuum cleaners on the map with the Roomba, now wants to take over your lawn.
Meet Terra, the first iRobot product designed to save up dozens of hours for those not particularly enthusiastic about landscaping.
According to iRobot, the Terra can save up around 70 hours of outdoor chores every year. Featuring the same Smart Mapping technology that made the Roomba so successful, it however moves in straight back-and-forth lines, just like a traditional lawn mower.
If it runs out of battery, it will plug itself in, then resume the task of achieving an impeccably manicured lawn.

The first country to get the Terra robot mower is Germany, where the device will launch in 2019, but iRobot also plans to open a beta program in the US this year.
So far, iRobot said nothing about pricing, so this tiny helper could retail from as low as $500 to more than $2000 (the price range of iRobot competitors like Husqvarna).
