Did you miss going to concerts and live performances from your favorite artists? A lot of artists have had a difficult time adjusting to the times we’re living, where concerts are so yesterday. Coronavirus has erased these types of performances where we used to gather around and listen to our favorite artists performing live.
Well, the’re good news is coming your way, as TikTok is hosting a virtual concert featuring The Weeknd, on August 7. The artist will perform songs from his latest album After Hours through a ‘cross reality experience’.
The artist will be represented by a digital avatar in what TikTok is calling its “first-ever in-app cross reality experience” and viewers will be able to interact with it during the performance.
To make this possible, TikTok has teamed up with Wave, previously responsible for virtual performances with artists like John Legend, and Lindsey Stirling.
These types of performances have become very popular among users, think of Fortnite’s recent events like Travis Scott or Marshmello’s concert with tens of millions of viewers participating.
The show will start on 6:30 p.m. on the official @tiktok account and you can RSVP for The Weeknd Experience at wave.watch/theweekndontiktok.
