These New Asus TUF Gaming FX Laptops Can Handle Your Rage Quits

Gamescom, one of the biggest gaming events of the year, is well underway and Asus wasn’t about to sit this one out. Meet the FX505 and FX705, two new Asus TUF Gaming FX laptops, two offerings that combine endurance with performance.

Asus’ Tuf Gaming line has always been known for durability and the FX505 and FX705 offer the resistance to rage quits or “abuse”, as, since they’re gaming laptops, you will bounce them around in your backpack at a LAN party or two.

“They are put through rigorous quality and durability tests that exceed industry standards, and they have also passed the demanding military-grade MIL-STD-810G test for sudden jolts. The reinforced chassis and hexagonal design on the bottom add structural rigidity to make them even sturdier,” promises Asus.

The Asus TUF Gaming FX505 is a 15.6-inch screen offering, while the FX705 brings more real estate with a 17.3-inch screen. However, both of them bring a full HD resolution with up to 144Hz refresh rate.

They also share the same goodies under the hood. You can go for either an Intel Core i5 or i7, both of them 8th gen, with up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM and up to a GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card.

Each TUF Gaming laptop also includes two drives, with a primary SSD up to 512 GB and up to 1 TB in hybrid Seagate FireCuda secondary storage. You’ll also find the usual necessary slots for connectivity (two faster USB-A and a slower one, HDMI 2.0, Ethernet and headphone / microphone jack with DTS Headphone:X audio).

Of course, while ruggedness is the main appeal of these laptops, the traditional gaming features have not been forgotten. You’ll love playing with the keyboard with customizable RGB lighting and a travel distance of 1.8 mm. Underneath it, you’ll find the HyperCool system so that the only thing getting heated in the game is your temper.

So far, Asus did not say what price the FX505 or the FX705 will have but they did announce a September launch date, so, if you’re looking to upgrade, you won’t have long to wait.
