After James Young, biological scientist, lost his left arm in a train accident, he didn’t believe he could resume his life, his daily habits. But a prosthetic arm, inspired by Solid Snake’s bionic limb in Metal Gear Solid V, armed with cool gadgets, made him smile and fight for his happiness again #objectmagic

Young’s new prosthetic was designed by Sophie de Oliveira Barata from the Alternative Limb Project and Konami, the company that made the Metal Gear Solid games. The limb doesn’t have just a cool design, but also great accessories. For one, there’s a smartwatch in the wrist, the first one James could sport from his accident. Then, he has a USB port that can charge his phone and even a functional drone, that works with a panel located on the outside of the shoulder.

The prosthesis is controlled by the scientist’s shoulder muscles that trigger sensors to communicate with the gadget. Now, James Young only hopes to attach it directly to the bone using titanium, to have real independence, through an operation called osseointegration. In order to do that, he has a running campaign here.
