The best (albeit yet unconfirmed) news for gamers lately comes from a Wall Street Journal report that claims two new Switch consoles are due this summer.
Citing sources close to Nintendo’s supply chain and game developers who already tested prototypes, WSJ claims that, as early as this summer, new Nintendo Switch consoles will be on the shelves.
The first one will be a console for more serious gamers, akin to the Xbox One or the PS4. Of course, this being Nintendo, the new Switch won’t be setting any records in terms of hardware capabilities.
The second new Nintendo Switch will reportedly be a successor to the Nintendo 3DS handheld that the company has offered for the past eight years. Just a month ago we heard a similar claim from a different outlet, so WSJ’s report is supported by other publications.
According to this latest report, both console will be fitted with LCD displays produced by Sharp.
Needless to say, Nintendo did not confirm or deny these leaked details.
