Ural has been building side car motorcycles since the 40’s and their design has always been simple and tough, designed to swerve off the urban roads to rough terrain easily. They have not changed much through the years, let me tell you – their bikes still look and feel old-school in the best possible way.
But their latest limited edition model, The Air, features something not so old-school: a drone. And a DJI one at that too!

What’s over the ridge? Ural asks on their The Air page What’s just beyond your campsite? What obstacles lie ahead after a big storm? When the trail ends or nightfall is looming, the rider or passenger becomes a pilot, sending out their eye in the sky to determine the best route or quickest escape.
That sounds quite exciting, doesn’t it? To sate our thirst for adventure and in order to take full advantage of it with the latest technology we have on hand, Ural has placed a drone that rests in the nose of the sidecar. It comes with an USB charging port too, which is already quite high-tech for your typical Ural motorcycle.
The compartment the drone usually resides in can be opened with just a push of a button and the DJI-made drone can be piloted by the sidecar passenger via the hard-mounted controller.
The Ural Air has only been manufactured in 40 units, each coming with a price tag of $18,000.
