Valorant, a 5v5 character-based tactical shooter, released its beta at an advantageous time. With everyone at home and the rise of Twitch streamers, Valorant had the perfect platform and audience to bring excitement around the game. Riot Games, the developers of Valorant, have announced it will exit beta and release worldwide June 2nd.
As mentioned, Valorant has been locked behind beta access keys until now. The only way to get access to these were through watching select Valorant streams of Twitch. Even if you did watch, it was not guaranteed that you would get a key, leaving many gamers out in the cold.
According to Engadget, the closed beta will end on May 28th. This will give the developers time to “reset player accounts, add new content (perhaps including the first battle pass) and get ready for Valorant’s proper release.” In addition, they will be adding more server locations for better connectivity in preparation for this worldwide launch.
