Verizon is the second major carrier rumored to have canceled their partnership plans with Huawei, after AT&T dropped the Chinese company’s phones from their offers #mobilemagic
Earlier this month, AT&T canceled their plan to sell Huawei’ premium phones, including the latest Mate 10 Pro, in the United States. This supposedly happened at the request of the U.S. government over security concerns. Now, Verizon is following in their footsteps, denying their customers the chance to buy a Huawei phone.
Moreover, Verizon and AT&T – which are keen on bringing a supporting 5G network this year – are also saying “NO” to the first phones capable of 5G that are expected to come from none other than Huawei.
The sudden commotion is said to have been caused by the Trump administration’s fear of espionage. In fact, the apparently they have tried to nationalize the creation of a 5G system but the idea was met with reluctance and in the end, it fell through.
We’ll have to wait and see how is Huawei going to respond to this turn of events and how it will affect the launching timeline of Mate 10 Pro 5G versions.
