Vivo’s iQOO series is aimed at mobile gaming and it has been growing steadily since a while ago: we first begun with the iQOO that featured the Snapdragon 855 chipset and received an upgrade in the shape of a Snapdragon 855+ chipset which earned the smartphone the name of iQOO Pro. The iQOO Neo followed, which was less pricier and came with a Snapdragon 845 under the hood and now we have the Vivo iQOO Neo 855 on our hands whose name of course, indicates the SoC it’s using.
The smartphone has a 6.38 inch AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, as well as an in-display fingerprint sensor. It features a waterdrop notch that hosts a 12MP selfie snapper with dual-pixel technology and an f/2.0 lens as well as AI beautification and face unlock.
On the back, we’ll find a triple camera array with a 12MP primary shooter with dual-pixel tech and an f/1.79 lens as well as an 8-megapixel wide-angle shooter with f/2.2 aperture.
The phone has software boosters, of course, being that it is a gaming smartphone: they are called Game Magic Box and Game Space 2.5. A liquid cooling solution will work towards dissipating the head across the device.
It has, of course, a Snapdragon 855 SoC under the hood with 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage, a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast-charging support, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
As far as connectivity goes, we have Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS, and 4G VoLTE support.
It comes in three colors: Puple, Aurora White and Black. For the 6/64 GB variant you will have to pay around $280 (after conversion from CNY) and for the 8/256 GB option around $380.
The phone will be available for pre-order up until October 31st.
