Vivo Y20 and Y20i Released In India Today

Vivo has released two new smartphones in India, today. The Vivo Y20 and Vivo Y20 are part of the company’s Y Series, which is experiencing rapid growth in popularity in Asia.

Nipun Marya, Director Brand Strategy, Vivo India, said, “Vivo’s youthful Y series has always been about offering a wide spectrum of products with innovative features that meets the specific requirements across different price ranges.”

The Vivo Y20 and the Y20i are pretty similar hardware-wise, both having a 6.51-inch Halo iView display, a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, and run on a Snapdragon 460 SoC. The new Y duo uses a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which claims to unlock the device in 0.22s.

The camera setup is the same for both devices, packing an 8MP selfie camera inside the notch, and on the back, a 13MP primary with 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor modules.

The only difference between the new Y pair is that the Y20 comes with 4GB RAM and the Y20i packs 3GB RAM. This also sets the difference in price between the two. The Vivo Y20 is priced at Rs12,990 ($175/€150) while the Y20i is slightly cheaper costing Rs11,490 ($155/€130).

The Y20 will be available in Obsidian Black and Dawn White colors and can be purchased on Vivo’s online store in India, retail stores, and other e-commerce websites starting August 28. The Vivo Y20i will also be offered in Nebula Blue gradient in addition to the Dawn White color and can be bought starting September 3.
