The Withings Steel HR hybrid smartwatch was a top choice for us when it came to the best smartwatches and now that device is getting an upgrade.
Meet the Steel HR Sapphire hybrid smartwatch which, as the name suggests, swaps the case material for the incredibly scratch-resistant sapphire glass found on high-end watches.
In terms of specs, the Steel HR Sapphire Edition doesn’t come with anything extra on top of what the original Steel HR offered.
It brags about a month-long battery life on a single charge, heart-rate monitor, step counter and a sleep tracker that feeds data into a Smart Wake-Up algorithm to determine the best time for you to rise from your slumber.
As for the design, the Steel HR Sapphire Edition is available in a 36 mm option paired with white&rose gold or blue&silver or a 40 mm black&slate grey option.
Both options have a leather strap paired with an aluminum case.
They retail for $299.95, a big hike in price from the basic Steel HR or the Steel HR Limited Edition ($70, respectively $120).
Is the added durability with Sapphire glass worth it? That depends on how often you scratch your watches.
