During Xiaomi’s annual developer conference in Beijing, the company announced that it’s partnering up with Swedish retail giant IKEA for a line of smart lighting products in order to expand their IoT and AI tech range.

The lights will be compatible with other Xiaomi IoT devices like the Mi Home app and the Xiao AI assistant.

Xiaomi does feature a number of smart home products on its online store and IKEA is no stranger to them either: the company has already worked with the Goolge Assistant for its line of smart bulbs and it will also bring Alexa into the game in April as well.

The partnership will most likely be win/win situation not only for the companies themselves but for the consumers as well, who will have more options to choose from.

According to a Tweet from Donovan Sung, Director of Product Management at Xiaomi, support will begin as early as December.
