Xiaomi Mi 8’s successor seems to be on its way: Xiaomi executive Wang Teng Thomas has posted a photo on Chinese social media platform Weibo of himself handling the Mi 9 smartphone.
The photo has since been taken down but Weibo users made sure to save it and, eventually, SlashLeaks got a hold of it to share it with the world.
We can’t be completely sure the phone in the photo is the Xiaomi Mi 9, but if it is, the image might shed some light on what’s coming.
We can tell that the smartphone will most likely feature a glass black and will have more than two rear cameras, which would be a first for a Xiaomi phone.
There’s also no fingerprint reader that we can see anywhere on the back so we might see an in-display one on this phone.
We will most likely get a few more leaks in the next few days and know more then, but we don’t have a long wait until we’ll get to see the phone in full: Xiaomi Mi 9’s official unveiling will take place on February 15th.
