Xiaomi has just confirmed the announcement date of Mi Mix 2 in China. The bezel-less phablet will be on display on September 11, that’s one day before Apple is rumored to unveil iPhone 8. Coincidence? We think not #mobilemagic
The sequel of the smartphone that started the bezel-less mania will be introduced in China this September 11. One day before Apple finally unveils iPhone 8 and iPhone 7S and 7S Plus, Xiaomi will show the world Mi Mix 2. The timing is pretty perfect – it’s definitely a way of drawing Chinese customers’ attention from the smartphone that’s been making headlines all year long. And, given Mi Mix2 rumored specs and appearance, it will definitely be a direct contender to Apple’s latest flagship.
While iPhone 8 will stick to a 5.8-inches screen, with just a cutout on the upper side of the front and no bezels, Mi Mix 2 is set to raise the bar with a 6.4-inches screen and 93% screen-to-body ratio. That means the bezels on its predecessor were slimmed for the new model, making it even more attractive for those of you who want a minimalist look for their smartphone.
But looks aren’t the only thing that make Mi Mix 2 a force to be reckoned with. What lies under the hood is equally important. The phablet is rumored to be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset, with 6 or even 8GB of RAM aboard. The phone could launch with a dual camera, a 4,500 mAh cell and a fingerprint scanner located on the back of the handset. Leaked images of the phone have pinpointed to dual stereo speakers and a USB-C port for charging.
Couple this great hardware and beautiful design with a decent price and we could see Mi Mix 2 smashing sales records once more.
