Two women searched high and low for a doctor to tell them what their temporary blindness was caused by. After several tests and appointments, one specialist actually put two and two together and figured it out – their smartphones!
It turns out that both of them checked their phones at night, seconds before going to sleep. You won’t believe it either, but apparently with one eye they were browsing, while the other one was closed. So, while one pupil became less dilated, adjusting to the screen brightness, the other one adapted to the dark getting more dilated.
Once they put the phone down, the eye forced to watch the screen had a harder time adjusting to the dark room than the other one causing an imbalance that felt like temporary blindness.
So, there you go folks; the blue color of the screen was always a sleep disruption, but now, there’s evidence it could lead to more persky problems.
