The Tesla of scooters, Taiwanese company Gogoro is bringing its electric two wheels vehicles to Europe, more specifically Berlin #automagic
They have partnered with Coup, a subsidiary of Bosch, to put up for rental 200 smartscooters in the European capital this year. Unlike the business model in Taiwan, these scooters won’t be available for sale and charging; instead, they shall be booked through the Coup app and will work with replaceable batteries.
Why is the Gogoro scooter worth this trouble? Well, the electric scooter can be customized through a smartphone app. The headlights and taillights can blink in a pattern of your choice and the whole device can be monitored from there. The removable battery gives it a range of 60 miles per charge at a speed of up to 27 mph in Berlin or 59mph in Taiwan.
You can see all the crucial information on the digital dashboard and replace the battery in a quick swap, no matter where you’re parked. The rented scooter will cost you around €3 ($3.40) for 30 minutes or €20 ($22.50) for a full day.
