Underwater homes are no longer a thing of the future. For Dubai residents, at least. One real estate developer is hoping to have 42 underwater villas ready by the end of this year at 4 kilometres off the coast of Dubai #todaymagic
Kleindienst Group has designed floating villas with underwater basements called the Floating Seahorse. The 42 houses range from 1,700 to 4,000 square feet and will feature 3 levels, with the lowest one invisible from the harbour.
While on the first and second floor residents will find a livingroom, kitchen, mini bar and other cooking and dining areas, the underwater level will feature the master bedroom and bathroom. From here, people will be able to see marine creatures and the coral reef the real estate group intends to build:
We will create an artificial coral reef beneath the luxury retreats, which will be a protected area in which seahorses can safely live and breed
According to their place release, the floating villas have already attracted an impressive number of investors, so it will be interesting to see if other places will adopt their idea.
