After making waves with the HP Mainframe, the first headset to include cooling, the company wooed gamers with another offering: the new HP Omen 15” laptop.
The exterior is not very different from last year’s offering. Its hood is still made from carbon fiber but the keyboard deck is now brushed aluminum and the bezels are even slimmer. However, the under the hood specs are what really makes this gaming computer stand out.
This gaming laptop can be configured up to an eight-gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q GPU with 6GB of VRAM, 32 GB of RAM, and dual PCIe NVMe SSDs with a 1TB 7,200-rpm hard drive.
The display is available in three versions: a 4K option with 60Hz refresh rate, 1920 x 1080 panel with 60Hz, or a 1080p display with 144Hz, some of them with Nvidia G-Sync technology for even better graphics.
The keyboard itself can be controlled with the HP Omen Command Center (the same one that will control the temperature of the HP Mindframe) and brings a 16.8 million color palette.
The new HP Omen 15″ will launch on July 29th and start at $979 with the best configuration carrying a price tag of $1,699.
