This month, the WestLicht auction will reveal a quirky classic camera that’s looking for an owner. The RITEL has a 400mm lens and is set on a genuine rifle with trigger and everything #fotomagic
Estimated to go for auction anywhere from $190,000 to $225,000, the camera is equipped with a mirror box so you can see through the lens with the elongated accessory. The trigger is completely functional, not just for decor. Push it and you’ll set off the mechanical plunger which is split in two cables. One flips up the mirror, while the other one pushes the shutter, letting light pierce and reach the film.
A slightly cheaper version is the RITOO with a 200mm Telyt lens. This one you can buy at $200.000. I know, it’s not a bargain at all, but for a collector’s item, it fits the bill.
On November 19th, as the auction takes place, you can spot other gems. Even if you don’t buy one, it’s still worth a look.
