Everyone’s dream is to buy a smartphone with a long battery life. In fact, despite the constant technological advancements, we have not yet reached the point where it is really possible to use a telephone for 3-4 days in a row without having to recharge it. But it looks like Sharp plans to change that.
The Sharp S7 – rebrand of the Aquos Sense 3 Lite – is sold with a 4000 mAh battery . Certainly it is not the smartphone with the largest battery (the Redmi 8A, for example, is equipped with a 5000 mAh battery) but it seems that the Android One + IGZO combination makes it particularly consumer-friendly.
The IGZO LCD energy-saving technology is definitely what sells the phone, at least according to the company, who says that, thanks to it, the users will benefit from a one-week long battery life.
From a design point of view, the smartphone looks sleek enough: it has an aluminum body and a 5.5 inch IGZO LCD panel with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, the device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage via micro SD.
Strangely, the Sharp S7 only has a 12MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture on the back. On the front, it features an 8MP f/2.2 selfie snapper. There’s also electronic image stabilization (EIS) and AI features that will help the users take better photos.
The phone is IPX5 certified and can withstand splashes of water and it is dust proof as well.
The new Sharp 7 will be marketed in Japan at the end of December in Peach, Gray and Silver colors. Unfortunately the price is not yet known.
