Google Pixelbook Go Looks Much More Expensive Than It Is

Google spent a lot of time at their event talking about the Google Pixel 4, the anticipated flagship phone, but students and workers everywhere should definitely take a look at the new Pixelbook as well.

Unlike last year’s convertible laptop/tablet, the new Pixelbook is just a laptop.

However, it’s one sleek offering, with a slim metal body, a generous touchpad and a 13.3-inch screen, which makes the whole package look more expensive than it actually is.

At just 2.4 pounds and with a magnesium chassis with a rippled effect on the bottom for better grip, it’s a great choice for those looking at affordable ultrabooks – it starts at just $649.

Google put emphasis on the new keyboard which is quieter and will “feel better” than on previous models.

What really drew us in is the promised battery life – up to 12 hours of autonomy and fast charging through USB-C that can give you 2 hours of work time after a 20 minute charge.

Under the hood, the Pixelbook Go has plenty of customization – M3, Core i5, and Core i7 processor options, 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM and storage from 64 GB to 256 GB.

Oh, and you can swap out the display for a 4K option, though the benefits of such a screen at 13.3-inch are a bit questionable.

The only real drawback of the base $649 model is the fact that it doesn’t come with microSD for extended storage, so you’ll have to settle for 64 GB locally and rely on the cloud for other needs.

The most expensive version of the Pixelbook Go offers 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD storage and an Intel Core i7 processor for $1,399.
