Mobile World Congress is a couple of days away and smartphone manufacturers are getting ready to reveal some of the hottest handsets this year. Sony has kept a low profile so far (at least compared to LG and Huawei) but renders have shed light on Sony Xperia X2′ probable design. From the looks of it, it seems we’re going to have another almost bezel-less phone #mobilemagic
Sony Xperia X2 has appeared on a Chinese social network. It’s just one of the four handsets Sony is rumored to present at the biggest mobile industry event. The one image leaked showcases the front of the device which looks sleeker than the previous models and it’s obvious what contributed to that image.
Minimal bezels are replacing the previous top and bottom ones. In order to achieve this effect, Sony has ditched its top logo. If last year everyone’s bet was on dual camera modules – which clearly became a technology trend in 2016 -, this time around manufacturers are relying on more display than ever before. LG G6 is another phone you’ll see at MWC 2017 without its bezels on, while Apple and Samsung are planning to unveil flagships following the same design line later this year (Samsung is rumored to launch it in March).
But let’s go back to Sony Xperia X. As you can see, the render leaked also shows a curved glass on top and functional buttons on the side for volume and power. As far as specs go, there’s not much to talk about – Sony has been pretty secretive this year. We know that the device is likely to sport a Snapdragon 653 SoC and 4Gb of RAM (though we’re holding hope for a 6GB upgrade).
