IFA

Huawei Announces IFA Keynote for September 3

As IFA approaches, Huawei has confirmed its participation at the tech conference, with the keynote scheduled on September 3rd.

Rumors suggested that the Chinese manufacturer was about to launch the new flagship Kirin chipset in early September. Could it be that Huawei is waiting for the IFA event to unveil it? That could be the case.

However, Huawei hasn’t announced yet the products to be unveiled at IFA, but the poster suggests a variety of smartphones, smartwatches and smart TVs.

There are a few questions left though. For starters we are wondering whether the expected Huawei Mate 40 series will be teased at the event, as the Mate phones should be the first handsets to be launched with the new Kirin chipset, or if they will be the last Kirin-powered flagships, considering the TSMC banned from manufacturing chips for HiSilicon starting mid-September.

Huawei’s license allowing the company to develop OS updates to dedicated devices has expired, and we are now wondering what will happen to future Android support for our handsets.

However, the temporary general license could be renewed as it would significantly help rural telecom firms in the States, as some of them are using Huawei’s equipment in their networks. We are hoping the company will talk about this situation as well.

The keynote focused on “Huawei’s vision for a seamless AI life” will start on September 3 at 12:00 GMT.
