Bose had plenty to say today. The company released three new sunglasses with speakers built-in, plus two new true wireless earbuds.
They’re pricey but they’re also….well, Bose, so the specs justify the price tag.
The more expensive of the bunch are the Bose QuietComfort earbuds, the company’s anticipated true wireless earbuds with ANC.
They’re fitted with Bose’s active noise cancellation using microphones and a new algorithm for adjustment.
The ANC has customizable levels, so you can adjust just how much of the outside world you want to let in, and has a transparency mode.
The Bose QuietComfort earbuds also bring a new Active EQ feature to prevent distortion at max volume.
They support the AAC codec and have Bluetooth 5.1.
As with most premium earbuds, they’re controlled with just touch gestures and have some water resistance, specifically an IPX4 rating.
In terms of battery life, the Bose QC earbuds can go for 6 hours and the charging case has another 12 in store.
It’s also Qi-certified, so you can use your mat and wirelessly charge it.
The more affordable new Bose earbuds are the Bose Sports Earbuds, retailing for $180.
Just like the Bose QC, they have a semi in-ear design with a wing and are IPX4 water-resistant.
However, unlike the Bose QC buds the Bose Sports Earbuds do not have active noise cancellation.
They do have touch gestures, AAC support and Active EQ, but unfortunately no ANC.
The Bose Sports Earbuds have a 5 hours battery life with two more full charges in the case and support Bluetooth 5.0.
