Disney Password Sharing Crackdown Starting In June

The great Netflix password sharing crackdown forced many of us to spend even more on streaming apps, now Disney is following suit.

In a CNBC interview on Thursday morning, Disney CEO Bob Iger had some bad news for those who don’t pay for their own Disney Plus subscription.

Iger announced the Disney Plus password sharing crackdown will start this June and, until September, all the countries that have this service will get the new limitations.

According to Iger, both Disney Plus and Hulu password sharing practices will end soon, as the company wants to cut costs and make both streaming services profitable.

Since Bob Iger returned as CEO in 2022, he has focused on cutting losses for streaming and raised some prices.

“That’s a huge, huge improvement. Now what we have to do is turn it not just into a profitable business, into a growth business,” he told CNBC.

What will you do if Disney Plus and Hulu become more expensive? How many streaming apps do you pay for?
