Those of us who have grown up with actual, old school film cameras around sometimes miss the feeling of holding them in our hands. Such is the case of this camera accessory maker who decided to bring some of that nostalgia back, with a twist.
Miggo’s latest Kickstarter project is the Pictar Pro – a grip that slides easily over either iPhones or Android phones and that uses the original 2016 Pictar Miggo as a foundation.
The device has a brass satin finish with a quick-release clamp to carry your phone in. All you need to do is open it, then squeeze it around your cellphone. You can also connect other lenses to the device, while your phone is still in it.
You can change shooting modes, adjust exposure and shift around various settings by using the metal dials at the top. The shutter release comes with adjustable speed.
The Pictar uses a high-frequency dual tone in order to communicate with your phone and control the camera functions.
The Pictar Pro works on a watch battery of 1,400mAh which you can charge wirelessly via Qi. The best thing about it? It will not only charge the device but also your phone.
Pictar Pro has already been on Kickstarter for a while now and the campaign has reached its goal. The devices are expected to start shipping around March 2019.
If you want to grab the full kit – viewfinder, neck and wrist straps, case – it will cost you $159!
