Pokemon Go hasn’t just brought success to Nintendo, triggering a 10% spike in its stocks, but to other businesses, too. Now, one mall in New York is ready to capitalize on the augmented reality game’s success by opening up a Pokemon Go arena #realitymagic
Colonie Center in Albany, New York, has decorated its lobby with Pokemon-inspired trinkets, hoping to attract more players (and therefore, customers) on its premises. The lobby floor is covered with a huge, painted Poke Ball where the arena is. The walls are full of themed posters and flags, hoping to give a more authentic feeling to the stage. Now, all they have to do is wait for Pokemon Go fans cross their threshold, with eyes glued to the floor, and make their characters confront each other.
This Pokemon Go arena is just one way to take advantage of the game’s popularity these days. Other brands are considering more serious partnerships with Niantic and Nintendo, such as McDonald’s.
