You made your mind about your next camera but are still searching for a great lens? Sigma might have launched your heart’s desire. Its most recent lenses are a delight for any photographer, despite the spicy price #fotomagic
Sigma is starting this fall on a high note, with the release of three kickass lenses for professional photographers.
There’s the 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art, compatible with full-frame sensors that go above and beyond the 50MP resolution. It’s a lens created with 14 elements in 12 groups, two of which are made from Special Low Dispersion glass (SLD reduces chromatic aberation, allows you to use low f-numbers and higher shutter speeds and makes the subject stand out). Sigma boasts that their prime portrait lens can focus on the subject’s pupils while blurring the eyelashes. Dust and splash-proof, the lens will retail next month for $1199.
Another gem is the wide-angle 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM | Art one. It can go on a full-frame or APS-C DSLR, needs a min. focus distance of 24cm and can minimize distortion, spherical abberation and coma flare like a pro. This one will go on sale for $1599.
Now comes the one lens that will bring you joy and sadness in the same time. Joy, because it’s a 500mm f/4 DG OS HSM | Sport, with Optical Stabilizer and the latest Hyper Sonic Motor on. As all the others, this one is also dust and splash-proof, so sports photographers can capture unique images stress-free. Now, the sad part – the Sigma lens costs no less than $5999! A Canon mount will join it at the end of the month, while a Nikon one will appear a bit later, in early November.
Sigma’s plans for the future regard cinematography. The company is set to launch two zoom lenses (18-35mm T2, 50-100mm T2, ready for 6K-8K recording) in Japan and the USA for EF and E mount and another six (24-35mm T.2.2 zoom- compatible with full frame, five primes ranging from 20mm to 85mm) in 2017.
