Adidas NFT Collection Wants To Jump In On The Hype

Yet another fashion brand wants to jump in the hype. The Adidas NFT Collection will launch streetwear drops on the blockchain, offering both physical and digital perks to buyers.

Called “Into the Metaverse”, the Adidas NFT collection tries to hit both buzzwords of the year.

Adidas NFT holders will have access to special merch drops and help the company shape its products and experiences for the NFT community.

The move comes after Adidas bought a Bored Ape NFT to deck it in a custom Adidas tracksuit and launched digital tokens last month, which offer early access to the NFT drop.

“Adidas is in the metaverse. We want to figure out what would be the dopest thing to do in that space and start involving the communities we’re activating through this [NFT] in how we should manifest in the virtual world,” said Tareq Nazlawy, Adidas’ senior director of digital growth to The Verge.

So, how much?

Starting 17th, sneakerheads and fashion enthusiasts will be able to buy Adidas NFTs for 0.2 ETH, around $800, and get the Bored Ape tracksuit, a hoodie with a blockchain address on it and an orange beanie to top it all off.

Meanwhile, Nike doesn’t want to lag behind, so the company bought another company that makes NFTs and virtual sneakers for the metaverse. The Nike RTFKT buyout and the Adidas NFT collection paint an interesting picture about the future of fashion, particularly streetwear.
