Watch: “Infinite Journeys” CG Challenge Got 2,400 Artists Involved and the Results Are Out of This World

Who doesn’t love a good Internet challenge? We don’t mean Tide pods eating competitions but challenges that showcase humanity’s endless creativity and the true potential of digital art beyond questionable NFTs.

Clinton Jones, a leading VFX artist who is known on Youtube as Pwnisher, launched a challenge called “Infinite Journeys” and almost 2,500 artists responded.

Using a simple animation of a moving vehicle provided by Clinton Jones and the “Infinite Journey” theme, 2,448 artists built and submitted a scene.

Pwnisher then gathered the top 100 renders in the video you can see below and trust us, the magic in it is like nothing you’ve ever seen.

From cozy train cars with young people going on an adventure to sad metaphors about aging and whimsical depictions of friends, this video has it all and in any animation style you could imagine. Leave us a timestamp below with your favorite!

We particularly loved Josse Boutanquoi’s work with astronauts at 2:59 (timestamp) and Konrad Mannheimer’s alien tourist at 7:11.
