Airbnb’s New Cleaning Protocols Implies 24h Vacancies Between Bookings

Short-term rental platform Airbnb came up with a new “enhanced cleansing initiative” that implies a 24-hour emptiness interval between bookings, as a measure of stopping the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the company’s first initiative of a kind, as they stated: “first overarching standardized protocol for cleansing and sanitization within the dwelling sharing business” and that its work to provide you with the cleansing protocol is “knowledgeable by the US Facilities for Illness Management and Prevention (CDC) revealed requirements; main specialists reminiscent of Dr. Vivek Murthy, former Surgeon Normal of the USA; and corporations within the hospitality and medical hygiene sector, reminiscent of Ecolab.”

According to the company’s blog post, visitors will be able to verify wich hosts are participating within the cleansing initiative when searching on the platform, as the brand new cleansing protocol will be marked.

The company was clear when highlighting the fact that people should still follow guidelines provided by the governmental authorities, as their program just completes those indications offered by the authorities.

“Airbnb’s Enhanced Cleansing Initiative is a program to assist hosts and visitors in a way forward for journey, when motion and journey restrictions are eased. This steering doesn’t substitute or override native guidelines and pointers issued by well being and governmental authorities, and we urge our group to stick to official steering and do all the pieces they’ll to take mandatory precautions.”

The host will be required to use certain cleaning products, approved by the protocol. If the requirements aren’t met, the host can agree to keep their properties vacant for 72 hours.
