The new year is still fresh but that doesn’t mean that we’re not going to receive any new leaks, on the contrary – the newest one relates to what might prove to be one of the upcoming iPhones.
Reliable leaker OnLeaks managed to get their hands on some renders of the back of what might be a 2019 iPhone prototype – possibly the iPhone 11.
The images, which only show the phone from the back, tell us that the iPhone could feature three cameras on the back in a, let’s say unique arrangement where all of them are tucked inside a square camera bump in a triangle shape.
According to OnLeaks, the renders are not locked down designs, they are just EVT ones (engineering validation test). As far as we know, Apple usually progresses its hardware from the EVT stage onto the DVT (design validation test) one and then moves on to the PVT (production validation test) stage, which is the final one.
In between all of these stages, we can expect some changes to occur, but even so, the EVT prototypes usually end up keeping their general design features.
If the renders do prove to be real and Apple decides to go ahead with the design, it will be a controversial choice, considering that most smartphone manufacturers nowadays aim to make the cameras as unobtrusive as possible.
Regardless what choice Apple will make, if the renders are real, we’ll keep you posted and tell you all about it.
