We’ve become more and more familiar with Alexa’s voice in the last couple of years and we’ve witnessed it taking over device after device and, even so, it doesn’t look like it plans to stop incorporating itself into our lives any time soon: recently, Alexa has even been added to a bike.
Yes, you read that right, a bike.
The bike is part of a new range called Cybic Legend that will become available on the consumer market sometime later this year – one of the models is an electric one, still in the development phase, dubbed the Cybic E-Legend. Both of them have been announced ahead of the CES 2019 and will be showcased there.
They are the world’s very first bikes that will have Amazon’s Alexa embedded in them. The software will be helping cyclists interact with their bike without being distracted by any screens or devices.
Probably the most important feature is Alexa’s ability to guide the cyclist with step by step directions and provide them with both weather and traffic updates. Needless to say, the Alexa Skills can interact with any smart locks and play music directly from the bike as well.
In addition to that, by using smart lights, the cyclists will also be able to light up the road when it gets dark by simply issuing a voice command.
For the time being, the bike will be available in the UK this summer and will come with a Vodafone 3G Sim card that will last for no less than three years.
Considering both bike models will make appearance at the CES, we can expect that the company will announce an official US release date as well.
We’ll be around at the show and, if we find out any new information, we’ll let you know.
