We haven’t heard from RED in a while now, more specifically, since the Red Hydrogen One. But that doesn’t mean the company has not kept busy in all this time, on the contrary – RED has just recently teased a Lithium camera via a Facebook post.

The Lithium camera will allegedly be a 3D camera with built-in dual digital cinema sensors and zoom lenses.

It weighs around six pounds (without the battery, that is), so it’s not exactly something you can tuck in the pockets of your jeans. Judging by that information alone, we can safely guess that it will be aimed towards professionals.

The camera works as an add-on for the Hydrogen One – by connecting it to the device, the users should view and edit 3D/holographic images in the H4V (Holographic 4-View) format, in real time.

So far, RED has not released any other details, but we can expect to hear more about it quite soon. As far as how much it might cost, that is anyone’s guess but we can bet its performance won’t come for cheap.
