Amazon just launched a Device Dashboard to its Fire tablets, to control Alexa compatible smart home devices. The new menu can be found on the new Smart Home button on the left of the navigation bar.
When fired, you can get a summary of all the smart home devices, and you can turn off all lights or control switches. You can even access the controls from the lock screen
Of course, the smart home devices can already be commanded with spoken requests, but the new interface was created for cases when “touch might be more convenient than voice.” and can be used when installing an Amazon Fire tablet as a smart home controller, for example.
Focused on touch, Amazon’s Device Dashboard can be pretty convenient for Fire tablets, as they are portable and handy. The update is available for a selection of Amazon’s tablets like the 2018 Amazon Fire HD 8, the 2019 Amazon Fire 7, the 2019 Amazon Fire HD 10, and the 2020 Amazon Fire HD 8.
