Animal Crossing’s Summer Update Part 1 was an absolute splash, leaving many fans excited for the second summer DLC. Nintendo released Animal Crossing latest free summer update, adding fun night time events.
For starters, there will be a fireworks show every Sunday during August. Redd will appear in town square with a raffle where players can win fun items like a fan, bubbles, sparklers, celebration items, and more. Additionally, players can custom design the fireworks to show any image they want. One can assume firework designs will be done through the same design system already used to custom design shirts, landscapes, etc.
Additionally, when going to bed, players will be transported into a dream realm to meet with Luna. Luna can bring you to different people’s islands. This seems to be sort of like Nook Miles, but for other people’s islands.
Finally, there will be an island backup system. This has been a highly requested feature given that each Switch only has one island and there was previously no way to ensure you would get your island (and hours of game time) back if your Switch malfunctioned.
These updates will go into effect on July 30th. The next set of free updates will come in the Fall, likely for the Halloween season.
