Anker has announced that it has released a new dongle yesterday, with the Apple users in mind – the adapter allows Lightning headphones to connect with USB-C devices like Mac or iPad Pro.
This doesn’t really comes as a surprise – ever since Apple decided to lose the headphone jack a while ago, a number of low-cost options have popped out their heads left and right from third-party sellers.
Apple initially bundled in the Lightning EarPods with the iPhone 7 and, while it did include a Lightning 3.5mm adapter in the box, that also meant the users could not connect their Lightning EarPods with other USB-C capable devices.
Anker’s adapter supports full lossless audio quality at 48KHz/24-bit transmission and features a MFI certification, which makes sure you have full functionality across Apple devices. In addition that, it maintains earphone mic and remote functions while you are connected to the USB-C devices.
If you need it, the dongle is a useful addition to your collection of cables and adapters, but you’ll have to keep in mind that it comes with a price tag of $30.
