Apple Retail Chief Expects More Stores To Reopen In May

As we’ve previously reported, Apple retails stores outside of China have been closed until further notice, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

A Bloomberg report, though, relates that the senior vice president of retail and people Deidre O’Brien send employees a video saying that the company is “continuing to analyze this health situation in every location,” “many more” stores would be reopened soon in May, as she expects.

Some of the Apple employees have been working from home, since April, as approximately 458 closed retail stores were closed. The company provided them the support needed, by sending each one of them a 27-inch Mac to make arrangements for a home office.

By now, the company has open just one store, the Garosugil outlet in South Korea. Here, employees are working reduced hours and focus on service and order pickups.

Apple Stores would most likely be reopened first in the US states where the COVID-19 restrictions will be initially lifted, but as the pandemic situation is pretty much unpredictable, we’ll just have to wait and see.
