Apple has now revealed its Apple TV+ video subscription service, which promises a solid number of exclusive video content from big Hollywood names such as Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Reese Witherspoon.
The service will be available both online and offline with completely downloadable content. It will be found in a re-designed Apple TV app which will also arrive with smart recommendations and deeper video service interrogation.
What’s very interesting is that the Apple TV will move to other smart TVs such as Samsung, Sony, LG and other big-name brands in the industry, alongside Roku TV sticks and Amazon FireTV. It doesn’t sound like something Apple would have been eager to do in the past, but it looks like the company has seen the long-term advantages in these partnerships.
For now, the company hasn’t revealed how much the subscription service will cost, just that it will become available this fall.
Could this mean that Netflix will finally have a worthy rival? That remains to be seen.
