The European Image and Sound Association (EISA), which is made up of 55 of the world’s best tech magazines, announced its 2018 awards and, implicitly, the best phones of the year.
Unsurprisingly, the Huawei P20 Pro with its powerful triple camera of 40 MP + 20 MP + 8 MP and plenty of AI received the award for the Best Smartphone 2018-2019. While no device had much of a chance to stand up to the P20 Pro, another one of Huawei’s offerings took home a prize. The Honor 10, from Huawei’s Honor Lineup, was voted the best lifestyle smartphone, with experts lauding the 16 MP + 24 MP camera with AI capable of recognizing and adjusting photo conditions for as many as 500 lifestyle situations.
The EISA Consumer Smartphone 2018-2019 award went to Nokia 7 Plus, a gorgeous device with ceramic coating and copper inserts which delivers a premium feel on the camera front as well. The Nokia 7 Plus pairs a 12 MP f/1.75 lens with a 13 MP F/2.6 telephoto lens with Zeiss optics and the device itself is powered by a 3800 mAh battery for almost 2 days of use.
