Both the Bowers & Wilkins Pi5 S2 and the Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 were announced with an improved battery life, with up to five hours on a charge.
The charging case of the Bowers & Wilkins Pi5 S2 offers another 16 hours, while the Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 ups that to 18 hours. Both can be charged wirelessly, though the Pi7 S2 has another nice feature: Wireless Audio Retransmission, which lets you connect the case to another audio source (like an infotainment system on a plane), then pass on the audio to the earbuds.
The other big improvement is on the Bluetooth range, which now grew to 25m.
The Bowers & Wilkins Pi5 S2 supports aptX and ANC using the dual microphones, but the Bowers & Wilkins Pi7 S2 has 24-bit/48kHz audio streaming with aptX Adaptive and an adaptive ANC.
The Bowers and Wilkins Pi5 S2 retails for $299 and is available in light gray, dark gray and purple, while the Bowers and Wilkins Pi7 S2 goes up to $399 and offers white, black, and navy blue colors. Both are available on the company’s website.
Since the launch, the company slashed prices on the original models, with the B&W Pi5 being available for under $200 (the white version is even more significantly discounted).
The B&W Pi7 dropped to around $350 for the charcoal model (and a lot lower for the white model).
