Most companies had something cool to show at CES 2022, even though the event is sadly much smaller because of COVID-19, but Google wins our “most convenient tech award”.
The company revealed at CES that its Google Fast Pair technology is coming to a lot more devices, not just phones.
Until now, Fast Pair was available to Android phones, helping them quickly connect with Bluetooth accessories.
Soon, that connectivity perk will extend to most devices, from wearables, to speakers, headphones and even cars.
“Starting in a few weeks, when you turn on your Fast Pair-enabled headphones, your Chromebook will automatically detect it and pair with it in a single click, letting you stay focused when studying or working wherever you are.
If you get a new Chromebook later this year, you can use your Android phone to quickly set it up and get immediate access to all of the information you’ve already saved, like your Google login and your Wi-Fi password,” says Google.
After the Chromebook Fast Pair update, Google plans to offer the same for Google TV and Android TV os devices at home.
