Denon Announces First-Ever 8K-Ready Receivers With DTS:X Pro Support

VISTA

Denon’s first 8K-Ready DTS:X Pro enabled receivers are here, and are a sight to behold. The new Denon X-Series AV is aimed at the Hi-Fi enthusiasts and the gaming market, aspiring to deliver to the user the ultimate home theater experience, amazing picture quality, and top of the line audio decoding capabilities.

The new Denon X-Series AV receivers take advantage of the latest HDMI technologies, thanks to a dedicated “8K” HDMI input enabling 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video passthrough, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR.

The Denon X-Series AV receivers are Quick Media Switching (QMS) enabled. The new HDMI technology allows a source to instantly switch the resolution or frame rate to eliminate screen blackout.

The new range of Denon AV receivers also has an enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC), that delivers uncompressed and object-based audio from the TV to the receiver via a single HDMI cable. From here the TV plays the video at the best quality possible (4K/8K) while the receiver identifies the best available surround format for decoding.

Denon X-Series AVRs are banking on the gamer market, that needs razor-sharp motion clarity with 4K/120Hz pass through and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) with the Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Quick Frame Transport (QFT), designed to reduce lag and improve stats. The Denon X-Series can also upscale existing HD and 4K content to 8K so more people can experience the power of 8K resolution.

Products in the line support virtually all 3D audio formats. For example, Denon AVR-X6700H and AVR-X4700H support DTS:X Pro audio format that will allow users to enjoy up to 13 channels of DTS:Xdecoding and is aimed at super high-end customers.

And this is just an example. The list on the 3D format side is impressive, with Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization Technology, DTS:X, DTS Virtual:X, IMAX Enhanced, and Auro-3D out-of-box.

Denon now supports a new “Pre-Amplifier” mode for the AVR-X3700H, AVR-X4700H, and AVR-X6700H, previously only found on Denon’s flagship AVR-X8500H. Pre-Amplifier mode provides a clear signal path and more tolerance in clipping levels by disconnecting internal amplifiers when the receiver is used as an AV processor and all speakers are powered by external amplifiers.

The Hi-Fi enthusiast crowd can be excited too. Denon X-Series AVRs are certified Roon Tested, enabling the users to access their music libraries through the advanced Roon music interface on their PCs and smart devices. This means that the Denon X-Series AVRs are Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Josh.ai, and Apple Siri enabled, they can cast wirelessly high-def media and a setup assistant.

Because every home theater is unique, Denon uses premium room calibration technology from Audyssey that automatically takes precise measurements and optimizes the receiver’s performance, providing the finest 3D audio experience tailored to the acoustic properties of the space.
