DJI has launched the Ronin SC, a lighter and more advanced version of the Ronin S.
The gadget weighs only 2.4 lbs (41% lighter than the Ronin S) and was designed specifically for mirrorless cameras and portability. Its motors can support approximately 4.5 lbs of weight from the payload and its battery can last for about 11 hours. The three-axis lock for travel and the ability to use Intelligent Modes are by far the most important features the gimbal brings.
Here are the highlight features that make the new Ronin SC a cool asset:
Three-axis lock
When traveling with the gimbal, this is what makes the difference and keeps it safe. The Ronin-SC’s new design features integrate axis locks on all three axes which makes balancing the camera much easier.
ActiveTrack 3.0
This feature makes use of the mobile device’s camera to send information to the gimbal, just like the technology available in some of DJI’s drones and the Osmo range. You can mount the mobile phone to the top of the camera’s hot shoe by using the phone holder mount that comes with the gimbal, open the Ronin app and select the subject to follow automatically.
Force Mobile
Just like the Ronin 2 and the DJI Force, the users can control the camera through the accelerometer on their mobile device. This might just be the coolest update, right?
In terms of compatibility, the device can be paired with a range of DJI accessories including a lighter & smaller external focus motor, Command Unit, DJI Force Pro, DJI Master Wheels, and a variety of accessories.
A full list of compatibility can be found on the DJI Ronin-SC website.
The Ronin-SC is now available at www.dji.com, as well as flagship stores, and retail partners. You can purchase the Ronin-SC Standard for £325 or the or the Ronin-SC Pro Combo for £415.
