When Should You Expect A Sony PS5 Console?

While Microsoft is preparing everything for the Xbox One X launch this November, Sony is eerily quiet about an upcoming PS5. Although the company hasn’t disclosed any information regarding specs or price, we might have a clue on the general selling point and a release date #hardwaremagic

Analyst Michael Pachter believes that, unlike last year, Sony won’t debut a console in late fall 2017. Instead, they are going to postpone the release of PS5 for 2019. “Sony is probably timing it better because they are going to bring out a 4K-capable device when the 4K TV market reaches 50% in the USA and 35% in the rest of the world“, argued Pachter.

Microsoft wants to get a head start this November though, which is why they’re launching the impressive 4K Xbox One X console then. With a couple months of delay, will Sony be able to dethrone Xbox One X? Or at least establish it as a powerful rival? It remains to be seen, although Pachter doesn’t think the company will add more than a couple of features this time around: “I think they will build a console that will backwards compatible with the PS4 Pro. So I think it will be perceived by the consumers to be a half step“.

That said, we can’t know anything for sure until Sony teases PS5. These predictions could turn out to be completely off, so we’ll have to wait for an official statement from the company.

What do you think about PS 5 ? Would you consider waiting for it to come out or are you going to try the Xbox One X this fall?
