After years of teasing, Google caught up with the times and created a Pixel 6 phone that might just be… unbeatable.
Google isn’t kidding around anymore or playing second fiddle to others. The last Pixel phones were in my top 5 but definitely not leading when it came to overall performance and looks. Well, that is about to change soon.
Google Pixel 6: Hot Upgrades That We Can’t Wait to See (Updated)
Turns out, I was 90% right about the things Google would upgrade this time around. I dreamed of upgrades all around but didn’t actually think we would get them. However, I was wrong; the camera, battery, memory, chip, even OS will be upgraded with the Pixel 6 series.
Pixel 6 Pro: Massive Camera Is On the Way
Because we’re talking about a Pixel phone here, perceived as an image processing software king by many, let’s start with the camera. Google has been refining and tweaking the algorithms during the past years but we wondered if they would ever take care of hardware too.
It seems that this year, we’re in luck. Both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will come with a massive – for Google, at least – 50MP wide camera. For the Pixel 6, that will come alongside a 12MP ultra-wide, while on the Pro they’re adding a mighty 48MP tele for more optical zoom.
Pixel 6 Case Reveals Mega Camera Bump and More
The selfie camera will stay at 8MP on the Pixel 6 but it will be bumped up to 12MP on the Pixel 6 Pro. Trust me, the Pro phone will kick ass this fall!
Pixel 6 Phones Get Surprising Battery Capacity
Google is also taking our complaints head-on this year… at least the ones regarding the battery. The team is going to outfit the Pixel 6 with a 4,600mAh battery and the Pixel 6 Pro with a whopping 5,000! That is the largest battery capacity of any Pixel yet!
How about memory? Well, lucky us, the Pro will sell with 12GB and up to 512GB of storage. That’s pretty much the best combo you can get right now. Google Pixel 6 will stick to 8GB but will take it further with storage, upping it to 256GB.
Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro: Chip, Android, Display Facts
To give you a full picture of the Pixel 6 series, let’s take a step back and see what is pretty much confirmed.
For one, both phones are coming with the first Google processor ever. It’s ARM-based, called Whitechapel, has a three-cluster setup and it’s made by Samsung with their 5-nanometer process, which is the same one Samsung used on the super hyped GN2.
Then, the series is coming with Android 12 out of the box, which is the latest from Google. Also, there will be a slight size difference between the two. Pixel 6 will be around 6.4 inches, while the Pro will show up at 6.7 inches.
This October, the Pixel series (especially the Pixel 6 Pro) will be very hard to beat. The series will come with flagship camera hardware, state of art image-processing software, plenty of battery, lots of memory, the latest Android OS for a smooth user experience, and a great processor.
Pixel 6: Price will definitely increase
The only drawback to all this is the increased price. Since Pixel 5 sold for $700, Pixel 6 phones will be a tad more expensive. Google might sell an $800 Pixel 6 and an almost $1000 Pixel 6 Pro.
